Costs
As of February 21st we will be making a small adjustment to our prices. The changes are intended to incentivise longer stays in Huancayo, which on one hand is a lot easier for us to provide for, and on the other provides a bit more consistency for our kids. As part of this we have also changed the pricing so that every volunteer, no matter how long they are staying pay $220 for their first week. After that the prices are detailed below. Our costs are actually lower than 3 years ago, which given that we now employ two local teachers, have upgraded the volunteer accommodation and face huge (often 100%) food inflation is an impressive achievement. We will continue to review our prices to ensure we are providing an excellent experience for our volunteers, that gives value for money and most importantly enables us to tackle the needs of our kids and their families as effectively as possible.
Those of you who applied before February the 21st 2011 are obviously under no obligation to pay the new prices, though we would appreciate it. This was a tough decision but a necessary one for the future of our organisation. The new prices are as follows:
1 Week: $220
2 Week: $150 (after $220 first week)
3-4 Weeks: $140/week (after first week)
2 months - 3 months: $130/week (after first week)
3 months +: please email tino@tinkuyperu.com
Note that volunteers who are visiting for more than 3 months, will be subject to an informal review with our programme director after 4 weeks in the programme. Discussions will usually revolve around your performance in the school and some general feedback, but in exceptional cases we reserve the right to ask volunteers who are not making a worthwhile contribution to leave our program.
